Mr York
Mr York Male Trail
It's easy to see why men are reckoned to spend more on designer labels than the ladies, especially here in York.
The Vivienne Westwood boutique on Blake Street starts the tour, featuring MAN menswear and accessories, then across the street to Van Mildert where the likes of Stone Island, G Star Raw, Evisu and D&G demand the attention of the aficionado.
Turn left into Stonegate, for Rohan and onto Jack Wills for your University look. Turn left into High Petergate to find Upper 10 for bespoke gentleman's gifts and back onto Low Petergate for Mannix, Robert Smart Menswear, Paul Smith, Sarah Coggles and Reiss all with fabulous views of the Minster through the roof tops if you can bear to tear yourself away from all the great merchandise on offer.
Head straight on at the crossroads for Anti Gravity to check out must have boys toys, gadgets and airsports.
Turn right after Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate, past the Shambles and into Marks & Spencer and head for the top floor for one of the best all round selections of menswear.
Across the road and down over to Coppergate for Fenwick stocking the ultimate style with Polo Ralph Lauren, into Topman or JOY for great gear.
For a wee dram take a look in the Whisky Shop too. A short cut back up Coppergate and through onto High Ousegate for Fat Face and Levi's.
Right onto Spurriergate for Game stocking all you need for your PSP, Xbox, Wii or DS Lite. Onto Coney Street for the latest tunes in HMV, or into the Blue Fly Café Bar & Internet Lounge on New Street for a quick surf......
After picking up all these things for yourself, don't forget to treat your loved one to some delicious chocolate from Hotel Chocolat on Coney Street.
Continue up New Street and you'll find Davygate and St Sampson's Square for Browns of York and don't miss Nevisport with a superb range of outdoor gear and rock climbing equipment.
On the corner Richer Sounds, the specialists in Hi-Fi, Home Cinema and Flat Panel TV. You have 365 pubs to choose from for your very own real ale trail, but if you're running out of time you can always take home your favourite from one of the York Brewery's own pubs or shop.
Worried about missing a vital football match? You can always ask our Visitor Information Centre staff as they know all the places where you can catch a game on Sky Sports or ESPN.
Head up to St Helen's Square and Lendal for Banks Music, dating back to 1756 for an unrivalled selection of sheet music and specialist instruments.
Turn right to pop into Demijohn, the world's first liquid deli and then double back and over Lendal Bridge and follow the signs to the National Railway Museum for a break from pounding the streets for the best collection of trains from Mallard to Shinkansen bullet train.
Pick up the Red Line 7 bus at the Railway Station for York Designer Outlet for Armani, Ted Baker, Burberry, Ben Sherman, Nike and Bose or head out to Heworth Golf Course for 9 or 18 holes. (Silver line 9 bus which also takes you to Monks Cross Shopping).
